We'd wake up early in the morning and get kicked outside to play ALL DAY. My father used to tell me that my grandparents would send him, my aunt and uncle on their way in the morning and tell them not to come home "until the street lights turned on." I know those would be considered "the good ole' days," but just because times have changed does not mean that exercise isn't still a vital component in EVERY child's life. As a child, or even a young adult, do you remember CHILD OBESITY being an issue? No. The simple fact is that IT WASN'T. Remember when running wild all day was bliss? Remember the time BEFORE Play Station, XBox and Wii? Maybe you don't feel comfortable sending your kids outside for hours on end by themselves, but just because the world is a little bit of a different place now, does not mean there aren't baseball fields, tracks and parks around every corner.
