A recent study published in the Journal of Adolescent Health may be a real eye opener. Researchers found that "couch potato" teenagers are more liekly to have higher blood pressure, regardless of whether they are overweight or not. Although the association between sedentary activity and systolic blood pressure is small NOW, interventions to decrease sedentary activities will have a HUGE impact on public health.
